Man dies while working on equipment

Residents in Minnesota who must perform work on or around heavy machinery should always be able to trust that their employer has good safety standards in place. This includes a variety of things like providing proper training to all employees as well as making sure safety procedures are followed appropriately. These things might seem basic but without them, employees may be put in harm’s way unnecessarily.

A company in Meeker County called International Barrier Technology manufactures products designed for fire resistance for buildings. An employee who worked in maintenance for the company was performing service on a piece of equipment one day when something apparently went wrong. Few details are known about how this may have happened but somehow the man become caught in the piece of equipment that he was working on.

At some point the man was released from the equipment but personnel were unable to save his life and he ended up dying from the incident. It is not known how long he was caught in the machine before being taken out. Also unknown is what part or parts of his body were injured. The local sheriff’s office is said to be investigating the matter. No word about an investigation by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was noted yet.

Family members that must grieve the loss of a loved one in a work-related accident might find talking with an attorney a useful way of learning about their options for compensation.
